Mega Bloks CAT Road Building Unit 97805 Playset Opening

This is my first experience with Mega Bloks, or to be honest first with Lego-size blocks because we already have large blocks for infants. I am mega surprised as Mega Bloks do really a good job with their set. To be honest I have purchased them only because the price. I didn't mean to buy any toy that day but when we were in toys aisle in our local supermarket we noticed that the set cost ridiculous price ( 3 times cheaper than in the same shop but online:) ). Who wouldn't buy this for a fiver?!
Anyway the set is awesome! You can build two vehicles: a digger and a roller plus we have a 3 figures of roadworks workers.

The quality of the blocks are nearly same as Lego brand, I only say nearly because when you play with them and you familiar with lego quality you can notice the blocks are not as tightly fitted as with lego. However this doesn't bother me at all. They fully compatible with lego/cobi so basically you can have a bigger choice and you can mix and match brands. The Mega Bloks figures are different, look more like human, their arms and legs are more flexible than Lego competitor.
       Mega Bloks are quite young brand so we can expect same variety of the products as Lego but for me they are doing very well. The only one think I could be picky with is the fact that all kind of blocks are called the same. I mean there is no sub brand for larger blocks and etc Like Lego does: for small children we have Lego Duplo, then we have regular size blocks for olders. I found quite difficult to find in the Internet the right blocks from Mega Bloks. Maybe because I am newbie and not familiar with the brand but for me it should be more clear.

To sum up. I think it is a great alternative for Lego, for parent who are looking for some creative, high quality and safe product for reasonable price.
